Faruk Chafim Tavares is a Mozambican professional with over a decade of experience in project management and financial support for small and medium producers, as well as small and medium enterprises, with a focus on improving agricultural value chains. His experience also includes projects funded by the World Bank and the Netherlands. He holds a degree in Forestry Engineering from Eduardo Mondlane University (2014) and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Geographic Information Science and Systems at Nova University of Lisbon. Faruk has built his career supporting initiatives aimed at the sustainable use of natural resources, strengthening rural communities, and implementing financing mechanisms for small farmers and commercial producers. Throughout his career, he has distinguished himself for his ability to lead complex technical and financial project management processes, ensuring compliance with international funders’ requirements and promoting long-lasting socioeconomic and environmental impacts. His expertise combines hands-on skills in technical assistance and field monitoring with strategic functions in team and partner coordination and supervision. He currently serves as Project Manager at the Peace Parks Foundation, in Maputo National Park, leading the implementation of a project funded by the Blue Action Fund. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating multiple partners, overseeing technical and financial aspects of project activities, and strengthening the institutional capacity of the Park.
