Dr. Gemechu Mulatu Kerorsa is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics at Wollega University, Ethiopia. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Haramaya University, an MSc in Development Economics from Adama University, and a BA in Economics from Bahir Dar University. With over 18 years of experience in university teaching, research, academic leadership, and community service, Dr. Gemechu has established himself as a respected scholar in agricultural and development economics. His research interests include agricultural economics, development economics, econometrics, value chain analysis, rural livelihoods, food security, climate change adaptation, poverty reduction, and policy analysis. Dr. Gemechu has published more than 30 peer-reviewed research articles in reputable national and international journals. He has supervised numerous postgraduate students, currently advises seven PhD candidates, and has successfully graduated one PhD student. He has also served extensively as an internal and external examiner for MSc and PhD theses at several Ethiopian universities. In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Gemechu serves as the Head of the Research, Community Service, Technology Transfer, and Industrial Linkage Office in the College of Business and Economics at Wollega University. He has worked as a consultant and principal investigator on several national and international research and development projects focusing on agricultural transformation, market systems, value chains, and rural development. Dr. Gemechu has also made significant contributions to curriculum development and quality assurance in Ethiopian higher education. He previously participated in the review of the BA in Economics curriculum at Madda Walabu University and contributed to the development of the nationally harmonized Economics curriculum adopted by Ethiopian public universities. He regularly serves as an external curriculum reviewer, external examiner, and scientific reviewer, contributing to the continuous improvement of higher education quality in Ethiopia. Dr. Gemechu is widely recognized for his contributions to economics education, research, postgraduate supervision, curriculum development, and academic leadership.
