Cartographic & GIS Support

I provided cartographic support for property management within the ODL system, ensuring accurate spatial data for decision-making. I monitored filings and documentation processes with government agencies such as ANLA and ANT, and processed requests for the formalization and regulation of vacant land. Additionally, I developed customized GIS applications for pipeline monitoring, leveraging data interoperability workflows, ETL processes, Python scripting, and SQL Server. I also designed and maintained geodatabases to support property, environmental, and risk management activities associated with pipeline infrastructure.

GIS Specialist

I administered GIS databases to generate specialized cartography for environmental and archaeological areas, ensuring data accuracy and relevance for project needs. I produced geographic inputs to support Engineering, Construction, and Archaeology projects, aligning spatial information with technical requirements. Additionally, I performed precise coordinate transformations for mapping the 500 kV Norte GEB Tequendama line infrastructure, ensuring consistency and reliability in geospatial representation.

I conducted property identification in the Casanare region, documenting spatial and ownership information to support land management processes. Additionally, I generated cartographic inputs and updated Ecopetrol’s institutional geodatabase, ensuring accurate and up-to-date geographic information for operational decision-making.

I managed the company’s geodatabase, ensuring the organization and integrity of spatial information. I integrated and centralized multiple geological data sources to improve data accessibility and consistency across projects. Additionally, I generated on-demand geological cartographic products to support analysis and decision-making processes.

BSc. in Cadastral and Geodesy Engineering

A cadastral and geodetic engineer is responsible for measuring, analyzing, and managing spatial (geospatial) data for land planning, administration, and territorial management. Their duties include collecting field information, managing property cadastre systems, creating maps, and working with technologies such as GPS and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for urban and rural development projects, appraisals, natural resource management, and territorial planning.
