Legal Projects Manager
Nineveh – Mosul – Duhok- Iraq
INTERSOS
January 2021
-April 2022
As Legal Projects Manager for INTERSOS, I managed the strategic planning, financial administration, and technical direction of legal assistance and protection programs across Duhok, Nineveh, and Mosul. I led a multi-site team of lawyers and legal assistants, managing workload and conducting performance evaluations to ensure consistent, high-quality legal services in crisis-affected regions. I provided technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship, strengthening team capacity and ensuring timely legal interventions compliant with SOPs and protection standards. I established rigorous M&E systems, utilizing case databases, referral tracking, and case audits to measure legal aid effectiveness, impact, and data confidentiality. I proactively informed strategic planning and program development by analyzing legal trends and needs, impacting resource allocation and program direction. I managed budgets and financial oversight, drafting financial plans, monitoring expenditures, and preparing liquidity plans to ensure operational stability and regulatory compliance for donor-funded models. I coordinated with support departments (Logistics, HR, Finance) and engaged with external partners and government stakeholders to build partnerships and enhance legal intervention reach and impact, upholding humanitarian principles and INTERSOS values, including PSEA and Child Protection policies.

Lawyer – ICLA Officer
Nineveh – Mosul IDPs Camps
Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)
January 2017
-December 2017
As an ICLA Officer and lawyer in the Nineveh-Mosul IDP camps, I directly implemented legal assistance and aid for vulnerable beneficiaries, including IDPs and persons with specific needs. I provided specialized mobile legal support, managing complex cases related to Registration Civil Documentation (RCD) and Housing, Land, and Property (HLP) rights, ensuring timely access to justice in a post-conflict setting. I led the intervention strategy through in-depth legal research and analysis of RCD and HLP laws, translating complex legal information into actionable strategies. I actively advocated for displaced persons' rights with authorities, resolving legal impediments and advancing cases. My approach emphasized empowerment and capacity building, guiding beneficiaries to navigate legal procedures independently, fostering self-reliance and sustainable outcomes. I conducted needs assessments and facilitated financial support for vulnerable IDPs, removing socio-economic barriers to accessing legal proceedings. I strengthened service delivery through inter-agency referral and service monitoring, establishing referral pathways and collaborating with local authorities and NGOs to ensure coordinated humanitarian assistance. I maintained program accountability by managing data entry within ICLA's case management system. I analyzed data trends to contribute to progress reports, informing strategic program management, enhancing monitoring and evaluation, and driving program improvement.
