Information Management 1. Established an information management system to collect, organize, and preserve reports/data and other technical or scientific information relating to the information needs of Oromia region Disaster Risk Management Office (DRMO) and its partners regularly and systematically. 2. Animal Feed Analysis Web System/Application Developer • Designed an Animal Feed Analysis Web Application (AFAWA) which manages the dissemination (automatic and manual by searching) of stored feed analysis which have four levels of authentication. • Designed/Implemented the application in such a way that it has a workflow provided by DISPS department for approval, analysis output registry, and analysis output dissemination. • Enabled the database to be searchable by different criteria which compose the request and the analysis output. • Implemented the application to enable the (laboratory staff must have the option to add an analysis output that is not related to a request (from a publication or an external laboratory). Inclusion of new key functionalities to AFAWA System. Authentication for ICARDA staff: - included single sign-on or Active Directory authentication protocol on AFAWA to allow ICARDA staff to easily login with their usual login credentials. This enables staff not to remember different username and passwords and allow them to use their usual windows credentials to access resources in AFAWA. This is commonly used in MEL as well. Harvest FEED and related publication from MEL: - a functionality to share information from MEL repository on AFAWA system had been included and tested. Search facility; - As AFAWA hosts publication from other sources and MEL, Search facility is developed and included on AFAWA database system. Data analysis Performed data analysis and designed online data collection tools on ODK ona for mobile based real-time data collection. Support on the existing AFAWA application I. Updated and maintained the existing AFAWA applications. Update and amend any broken links in the existing AFAWA application II. Performed adjustments on the AFAWA database and application code so that the system supports the current need. III. Assisted the Small Ruminant Nutritionist Scientist in posting the contents of publication and latest Fact sheet item at the front page of AFAWA and archived Fact Sheet list with their short description. IV. Updated the look and feel of the current AFAWA website. Update the current logo, etc. V. Updated the Registration of new account so that it will send verification to the requestor’s email address.
