Meshack Kawinzi is an Educationist, public health and gender development professional with extensive experience in program coordination, evidence-based policy engagement, and adult participatory learning across Kenya. At National Organization of Peer Educators (NOPE), he has supported workplace wellness programs through peer-led models and systems-based approaches. Meshack has successfully led women’s economic empowerment and health initiatives under the BSR HerProject and the UKAID Work and Opportunities for Women (WOW) program, focusing on gender equality, smart-climate agriculture, clean energy adoption, and livelihood improvement for women and youth in agricultural value chains. His expertise includes curriculum development, training facilitation, and the application of adult participatory learning methodologies to enhance workforce capacity and engagement. Notably, he contributed to the curriculum development for Health Management Systems at Zetech University, aligning academic learning with practical health system’s needs. He is an HIV Health Fellowship alumnus from the University of Nairobi and the University of Washington and a METIS Fellow in Education Innovations, with a strong background in health systems strengthening, data use (DHIS2), and mentorship for healthcare workers. Meshack also played a key role in contributing to Kenya’s Sessional Paper No. 1 of 2023: National Population Policy for Sustainable Development, reflecting his commitment to linking research, policy, and practice. Beyond national engagements, Meshack has participated in global forums organized by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) under the WOW program, and at the Business Fights Poverty Global Summit 2025. As a member of the Global Expert Network at Business Fights Poverty, he contributes to global thought leadership on inclusive development and social impact. He also co-hosted the podcast “The Power of Participatory Radio,” highlighting the role of communication and community dialogue in behavior and systems change.
