Project Coordinator

Responsible for recruiting, training, supervising, and leading local teams and team leaders, while providing pastoral care, administrative assistance, and ongoing performance monitoring to ensure project targets were met or exceeded. Oversaw beneficiary selection, coordinated capacity-building initiatives, and facilitated collaboration with stakeholders, community representatives, and partner institutions, including Avicenna University. Designed and adapted operational manuals, implemented Train-the-Trainer (TTT) programs, and ensured trainers were briefed on safeguarding, safety, and security protocols. Led qualitative data collection activities, including translating and reviewing questionnaires, and contributed to the development of the Youth Identification Approach. Trained documentation officers, coordinated their fieldwork with Citizen Charter partners, and monitored quality of outputs. Provided regular and ad-hoc progress updates and reports to supervisors, maintained availability for communication during working hours, and represented the organization in meetings with local, national, and international stakeholders. Ensured alignment of project implementation with donor requirements, including those of the World Bank, while addressing topics such as irregular migration, displacement, and human trafficking.

Operations Consultant

I represented the Principal before governmental and non-governmental organizations at local and regional levels in Afghanistan. I conducted client assessments to identify opportunities for operational improvement and created and implemented project plans to deliver sustainable results. I addressed technical, organizational, process, and people-related problems while contributing to internal training, capability development, and improvement projects. I also translated key legal and establishment documents, such as articles of association, power of attorney, board resolutions, and business plans, from English into Farsi. Additionally, I managed and supported both clients and peers.

Data Analyst

Data Collection & Preparation • Gather social media content, user comments, and online feedback from multiple platforms (e.g., Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit). • Ensure all data is relevant, complete, and categorized according to project objectives. Coding & Classification • Read, interpret, and manually code user comments based on sentiment (positive, neutral, negative) and thematic categories (e.g., product features, storyline reactions, brand perception). • Apply consistent coding frameworks and quality-check to ensure accuracy. Qualitative & Quantitative Analysis • Identify recurring themes, emerging trends, and key drivers of user sentiment. • Convert raw coded data into structured datasets for further statistical analysis.

National Research Consultant

I provided guidance to the Afghanistan Customs Department (ACD) research team on research techniques, methodology, and data analysis. I facilitated the extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNODC and ACD and coordinated research activities with other relevant Afghan ministries, including the Ministry of Counter Narcotics (MCN), Counter Narcotics Police of Afghanistan (CNPA), and Afghanistan Border Police (ABP). I translated research tools from English into Farsi, organized regular meetings with stakeholders, and assisted in identifying new research topics. I drafted a concept note for the research study “precursor trafficking to Afghanistan”. Additionally, I linked ACD’s research activities to other UNODC projects, submitted monthly progress reports, and provided administrative support for the implementation of a capacity-building project. I also contributed to the Afghan Opiate Trade Project’s activities in Afghanistan.

National Research Associate

I conducted focus group discussions and in-depth qualitative interviews to assess the impacts of drugs on users and their families across various provinces of Afghanistan, including Kabul. I translated the UNODC report "Opiate Trafficking through the Northern Route" into Farsi and edited the Farsi version of the Ministry of Counter Narcotics (MCN) report "Afghanistan Inter-Provincial Opiate Trafficking Dynamics." I also translated research tools and conducted studies on drug trafficking in Afghanistan, preparing bi-weekly and monthly reports. I collaborated closely with research units in the MCN, Counter Narcotics Police (CNPA), Afghanistan Customs Department (ACD), and the Drugs Demand Reduction Department (DDR) of the Ministry of Public Health. My work involved collecting and analyzing data on the connections between drug trafficking and the broader economy, building contacts, and liaising with various ministries and counterparts. Additionally, I provided regular updates to the AOTP management in Vienna on precursor trafficking routes and developments in Afghanistan’s drug-related efforts.

National Research Officer

I recruited, trained, and monitored surveyors across various provinces. I conducted focus group discussions and qualitative interviews with key informants and stakeholders regarding opium poppy cultivation, production, and smuggling in Herat and Farah provinces. I collected weekly and monthly seizure reports from counter-narcotics police to analyze trends in smuggling and trafficking routes. I undertook provincial missions to meet with counter-narcotics and border police officials to get information on drug production and smuggling trends in their respective areas. In 2014, I led a research study on illegal pharmaceuticals across five regions of Afghanistan. Additionally, I established and maintained working relationships with key stakeholders and relevant counterparts.

I started my master degree at Avicenna University in 2017 and graduated in 2019.
