Professional Bio – Robert Lule Magala Robert Lule Magala is a development finance and digital transformation expert with over 20 years of experience leading research-driven programs across Africa and Asia. His work integrates humanitarian analysis, financial inclusion, and market systems research, focusing on data-driven solutions that empower vulnerable and crisis-affected populations. Currently serving as Head of Digital Strategy at UGAFODE Microfinance (MDI), Robert leads institutional transformation initiatives, deploying digital banking analytics and data platforms to improve financial access for refugees, MSMEs, and rural households. He has overseen digital field applications, research-informed product innovation, and the integration of ESG indicators into real-time monitoring systems. Previously, as a Senior Analyst at MicroSave Consulting, Robert led or co-authored studies for UNCDF, CGAP, MasterCard, and FSD Africa. His assignments covered mobile money risk analysis, agent banking evaluations, housing and MSME value chain studies, and impact assessments across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, and Sierra Leone.
