Mr. Shami has around 30 years of professional experience, including 20 years experience of international best practices and standards in strategic planning, promoting community-based rural agriculture development, sustained natural resources management, social and economic community development, decentralized planning for district development, strategic planning, food security and poverty alleviation and environmental management through participatory processes and approaches. As Senior Programme Development and Implementation Support Expert, I represented FAO in technical committees for the design and conceptualization of a number of national strategies including; national agriculture strategy, national environment strategy, National Animal Health and Disease Control Strategy, Red Palm Weevil Control Strategy and others. I lead technical teams in the design, development, resources mobilization and implementation of strategic projects. Notably, I support the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) in the design of the flagship strategic Programme “Saudi Sustainable Rural Agricultural Development (Saudi REEF)”
