Senior International Assistance Officer

o Assists in the identification and development of the Official Development Aid (ODA) Programmes at the mission, o Identifies, assesses and negotiates new aid projects, o Manages and administers bilateral and regional projects locally, o Assists with the implementation of non-bilateral programmed such as those funded by Special Programmes and Multilateral Branches, o Project monitoring: to ensure efficient and effective use of GAC (Global Affairs Canada) resources based on RBM results and GBA+ ; o Maintain current knowledge of issues affecting civil society in Ethiopia: with respect to Human rights, Democracy and governance and enhance the relationship and efficiency and effectiveness of Canadian programming in Ethiopia; o Policy dialogue: to inform GAC on strategic development issues pertaining to FSAG (Food security and Agricultural Growth) and SEG(Sustainable Economic Growth ) and on Governance theme and also conduct policy dialogue with higher government officials and donors based evidence based research and surveys ; o Mission engagement: to support the improvement of the working environment of the mission and support for friendly working environment. o Attend high level national and regional meetings , forums and exhibition in the area of human rights , Democracy and governance which can be used as input for new initiatives and create synergy with other likeminded donor agencies .

Social Development Expert

o Organize skill reinforcement trainings on community conversation to Government staff, local community and woreda technical staff as per the Programe Design Report, o Support trainers and community facilitators to develop work plans to conduct community conversations as per the Programme, o Oversee the implementation of the Community Conversation and provide on-going technical support at all levels, o Assess gaps at group, woreda and zonal level on Community Conversation and CM, o Deliver quality training based on the gaps analyzed, o Prepare IEC materials on CC and CM which is palatable to community o Organize events / workshops to orient, sensitize and engage sector offices of woreda and zonal level and the community on CC and CD o Conduct mini /rapid assessments on the status of CM and propose immediate solutions which result in behavioral change of the community, o Prepare and translate manuals and guidelines and case stories, o Manage exchange visits including visits of responsible woreda staff and community facilitators from the intensive kebeles to the expansion kebeles to share experiences from the intensive programme. o Manage the preparation of training manuals for training of trainers and training of community facilitators, o Develop and agree work plans for responsible staff in WCYA at all levels and ECMP field staff (in collaboration with the Programme Coordinator and other relevant Programme staff) and provide technical support for implementation of the Community Conversation Expansion Programme, o Deliver quality reports monthly, quarterly and annually to TL and DTL based on EMCP and MSP formats.

o Gender and agricultural value chain assessment in partner projects, o Capacity building of implementing partners based on the gap of the assessment, awareness creation and ensuring women participate and benefit from Value chain process, o Gender mainstreaming throughout the project, o Documentation and publication of best practices, lessons and learning’s from projects.
