With more than 18 years of professional experience, Valerio Ussene is a Mozambican national with a significant educational and professional background in social education, community engagement, and research on gender based violence. Living in Nampula City, Ussene holds a Master's degree in Social Education and a Bachelor's in Educational Sciences, both obtained from the Catholic University of Mozambique, Faculty of Education and Communication, from August 1999 to December 2005, in Nampula. His current role as a consultant for GIST-Research centers on addressing research on gender-based violence in education, particularly in Cabo Delgado, where he was involved in various aspects of research and project management. Ussene's extensive experience includes working on the Mozambique Urban Sanitation Project, Research on conflict sensitivity in agribusiness, Technical assistance of Municipalities in Good governance, Citizen engagement and participation, and researching women's entrepreneurship opportunities in Cabo Delgado. His career is characterized by a strong commitment to community service, monitoring, project management, community and stakeholders’ engagement and analyses, health and a focus on vulnerable populations.
