I began working at Jimma University, Jimma City, Ethiopia at Assistant Graduate position in 1999 before being promoted to lecturer rank in 2003, Assistant Professor in 2014, and Associate professorship in 2017. In addition to academic position, I also served as Head, Planning and Programming office of the University from 2003 to 2008, Irish Aid and World Bank Projects Coordinator from 2005 – 2012, Dean, and College of Business and Economics as well as Project manager for Executive MBA in Agribusiness, the only program of its kind in Ethiopia, from 2013 to 2018. Between 2004 and 2016, I was also a member of the University senate, served as secretary of Executive Strategic Planning Team and Chairperson of Internal Performance Assessment Team during the development of two strategic planning of the University implemented from 2005-2010 and 2011-2019, In August 2018, I was transferred to African Leadership Excellence Academy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where I worked as lecturer to PhD students and researcher for three years till December 31, 2021. Since January 1, 2022, till now I am working at Ethiopian Civil Service University in Addis Ababa as Mentor of PhD students in the department of Development Economics, researcher, Coordinator of PhD program in Development Economics, and Chief Editor, for Journal of Finance, Management, and Development published by the University. In addition to my permanent jobs in three higher education, I also serve as supervisor and external examiner of PhD students dissertations in different Universities of Ethiopia. At present I am supervising 14 PhD students’ dissertations and I examined 6 dissertations. Moreover, in my 24 years of service in Higher education institutions, I managed to visit Hull University Business School, Galilee College, University of Amsterdam, Maastricht School of Management, and Rennes University, get training in different areas, and collaborated in project and research works.
