Born in Afghanistan, I studied medicine in my homeland before being forced to leave and seek asylum in Greece in 2001. Since then, I have been actively engaged in issues of asylum and migration, beginning from the moment I arrived in Greece. As a Co-Founder and Director of the Greek Forum of Refugees, I have been at the forefront of advocating for the rights, active participation, and effective integration of refugees and migrants into Greek society. My efforts in these areas have earned my international recognition and awards. I am an elected member of the Board of the European Migration Forum within the European Union's Economic and Social Committee. Additionally, I contributes my knowledge and experience as a member of the European Commission's Expert Group on asylum and migration issues.
