I am a highly experienced security and governance consultant with a deep understanding of youth-related issues. With 18 years of experience in the Kenya Police Service, I have extensive knowledge and expertise in maintaining law and order and dealing with complex security challenges. During my tenure in the Police Service, I rose through the ranks to become an Inspector of Police, where I was responsible for overseeing critical aspects of security and governance, including policing, crime prevention, investigation, and community engagement. Throughout my career in the Police Service, I was committed to community development as a way of long-term crime prevention. I worked with local youth in the communities to build capacity in crime and violence prevention, tackling the problem of drugs and alcohol abuse, and community resilience to crime and other risk-generating behaviors. I also established partnerships with local communities to build trust and enhance cooperation in addressing security challenges. My passion for youth development and empowerment led me to work in the private sector, specifically in various educational institutions. As a part-time lecturer of International relations and Director of Security Services (DSS), I interacted with young people, offering guidance and mentorship, and helping them solve their security issues, including crime and violence, cyber-bullying, and drug and alcohol abuse. This experience has given me a unique perspective on the unique security challenges facing young people and how best to address them. As a youth advocate, Jonyo is committed to fostering a culture of good governance, where young people are empowered to participate actively in decision-making processes. He believes that meaningful engagement with young people is key to unlocking their full potential and enhancing their contribution to society. Jonyo holds a Master of Arts degree in International Relations (Peace and Conflict Studies Major) from the United States International University (USIU)- Africa, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Nairobi. He has also earned security certifications from various accreditation bodies, including the Security Risk Management Professional, Regional Level (SRMP-R) from the International NGO Safety and Security Association (INSSA). This academic background, coupled with his practical experience, has enabled him to offer insights into security and governance issues from both theoretical and practical perspectives. With his wealth of experience and knowledge, Jonyo has become a trusted advisor and consultant in matters of security and governance. He has worked with a range of clients, including individuals, government agencies, NGOs, and private companies, providing strategic guidance, risk assessment, and training in security management, community development, and conflict resolution.
