About Ektimisi
Ektimisi is a MENA-based research and development consulting firm operating across the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe. We support non-profit organizations, donors, and research institutions through high-quality services in evaluation, third-party monitoring (TPM), research, capacity building, livelihoods, women’s empowerment, governance, and ICT solutions. With field presence in Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Ukraine, and a strong network of local partners, Ektimisi delivers context-driven, methodologically rigorous, and ethically grounded assignments that enhance accountability, learning, and impact in humanitarian and development programming.
About the Role
Ektimisi is seeking to expand its pool of Agriculture and Livestock Experts to support ongoing and future assignments across Iraq and the wider MENA region. Selected experts will be engaged on a short-term, project-based consultancy basis, typically for a few days per assignment, to provide technical inputs at key stages of evaluations, assessments, capacity-building workshops, or third-party monitoring exercises. Inclusion in the expert pool does not guarantee immediate engagement but allows Ektimisi to rapidly mobilize qualified professionals for current and upcoming projects in partnership with international donors and implementing agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct agriculture and livestock-focused desk reviews and provide inputs to inception reports, including context-specific questions and recommendations.
Design or review data-collection tools (KII, FGD, surveys, IDIs), integrating methods tailored to agriculture, food security, and value chain analysis.
Provide technical inputs during field missions, including support to enumerators and validation of data quality.
Analyze agriculture and livestock-related data, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities for resilience and livelihoods.
Deliver trainings and capacity-building sessions for field staff, partners, or community members on agriculture, livestock management, and climate-smart practices.
Contribute to draft and final reports with sector-specific analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
Participate in internal and client meetings, including inception, pre-fieldwork, and findings presentations.
Qualifications Required
Minimum 4–6 years of professional experience in agriculture, livestock management, food security, or related fields.
Proven expertise in climate-smart agriculture, value chain development, or resilience-based programming.
Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering trainings for field teams, local partners, or community groups.
Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills in English; Arabic is a strong asset.
Availability to undertake short-term consultancies within project timelines.
Additional Information
Contracted on a short-term consultancy basis, with tasks and deliverables defined per assignment.
Remuneration based on an agreed daily rate in line with experience and assignment scope.
Experts may work remotely, with potential short field missions as required.
Inclusion in the pool enables Ektimisi to include expert profiles in competitive proposals and to contact them rapidly for upcoming assignments.
