Position: Analyst (Senior)
Contract duration: 4 months
Start date: June 16, 2025
Location: Several countries
IMPACT is looking for several Analysts (Senior) to join our teams engaged in acute humanitarian crises. These positions will contribute to the production of a new flagship analytical tool to provide a concise and actionable understanding of urgent humanitarian needs across different geographic areas and population groups. In a context where the humanitarian sector faces unprecedented challenges, these roles will play a key role in ensuring that increasingly scarce assistance is prioritized according to needs.
The role of Analyst (Senior) at IMPACT offers a unique opportunity to produce work with a direct impact on humanitarian prioritization decisions, including, but not limited to, the Humanitarian Program Cycle (HCP), HNRPs and the allocation of donor resources. Analysts will review and synthesize data, conduct structured analysis according to IMPACT's global analytical guidelines, and produce a high-impact external brief, in collaboration with GIS, data and design teams to integrate visual elements when relevant. These roles are suitable for technical profiles who appreciate working with large amounts of data, while being able to place their technical work in a broader perspective to achieve a humanitarian impact.
Strong analytical skills: experience in interpreting complex data and ability to assess the quality of different data sources. An understanding of basic GIS processes and results would be an asset.
Understanding of the humanitarian coordination system: knowledge of the CPH, inter-agency needs analyses and evaluations, and experience in engaging with various actors (clusters, donors, UN agencies) in the humanitarian response.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills: Proven ability to identify trends, contextualize outcomes and synthesize complex information into actionable insights for diverse humanitarian audiences.
Strong writing skills: experience in producing clear and concise documents for humanitarian audiences, combining text and visual elements for maximum impact.
Ability to deliver quickly: Proven ability to manage workflows and produce high-quality results within tight deadlines.
Resilience, solid judgment and emotional intelligence: ease of working independently and with few guidelines. Patience in the face of obstacles and resilience to persevere in difficult situations.
Previous experience in the country/region concerned: a strong asset.
Additional skills depending on the context: see the table below for more details.
Note: Roles may be at the Senior Analyst or Analyst level, depending on the candidate's experience.
Global project planning: align the country-specific work plan with global objectives, in liaison with country coordination and headquarters to ensure coordination and ensure timely delivery.
Review and Consolidate Secondary Datasets: Synthesize data from relevant sources across the country (including, but not limited to, other REACH assessments, UN agencies and international NGOs, and public data sources), assess data reliability, identify critical gaps, and help decide where and how to launch primary, targeted, and lightweight data collection.
Strengthening contextual understanding and stakeholder networks: develop and maintain a network at the country level to improve understanding of context and useful outcomes, and support joint analysis with relevant stakeholders.
Conducting analysis and interpretation: applying IMPACT's defined frameworks (e.g., mortality risk) and global analytical guidelines to produce a structured, coherent and relevant analysis in the context of urgent humanitarian needs.
Drafting of deliverables and support for dissemination: write the analysis brief, including collaborating with GIS managers to produce visuals when relevant, and direct the presentation of results to clusters, working groups and donors as needed.
Contribution to learning for 2026 and beyond: support lessons learned and propose improvements to global analytical processes and guidelines.
Positions are available in various contexts. For all roles, a mastery of written English is required. For some contexts, specific skills and languages are also required.
