Description
3iS is a non-for-profit organization that provides information management services to humanitarian and development organizations. Through information management, we help our partners target assistance to the world's most vulnerable populations, and we support local authorities and institutions to enhance their capacities and become autonomous in their internal data and information management activities.
The Communication Intern (Design & Visualization) will support the team in developing engaging visual materials that communicate project activities, training content, and key data. The intern will work under the guidance of the Information Management Officer and gain practical experience in graphic design, data visualization, and organizational communications.
- Assist in designing presentations, training materials, handouts, posters, banners, and other communication products.
- Support the development of visual content for workshops, meetings, and capacity-building activities.
- Create simple illustrations, icons, and layouts using approved branding guidelines.
- Assist in developing infographics, charts, and simple dashboards to communicate project information.
- Support the preparation of maps and visual products in collaboration with the Information Management team.
- Help organize visual assets and maintain design templates.
- Support the design of reports, factsheets, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Assist in preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Help edit and format documents to improve readability and visual appeal.
- Ensure communication products follow 3iS and donor branding requirements.
- Organize and maintain a library of communication materials, templates, and photographs.
- Provide support in updating communication platforms and shared information resources.
- Participate in team meetings and capacity-building activities.
- Support other communication and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new design and visualization tools.
Recent graduate (within the last 1–2 years) with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Multimedia, Mass Communication, Computer Graphics, or another related field.
- Previous internships, volunteer experience, academic projects, or freelance work in graphic design or communications is required.
- A strong interest in humanitarian and development work is desirable.
- Basic proficiency in Canva and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS, or QGIS is desirable but not mandatory.
- Creative mindset and willingness to learn.
- Good attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to receive feedback and work collaboratively within a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Practical experience in humanitarian communications and information management.
- Mentorship from experienced professionals.
- Exposure to donor-funded projects and organizational branding standards.
