Description
The Organisation
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
Our new global strategy prioritises humanitarian scale up.
To respond to the growing unmet needs in emergencies and to strengthen the speed, quality, relevance and appropriateness of our emergency response and readiness work, we are investing in our humanitarian deployable capacity including through the Roster.
Plan International Roster
Plan International is looking to grow our pool of experienced Emergency Response Specialists to lead Plan International’s humanitarian programming as part of our Emergency Roster. Members of our roster are specialists in their field and have the skills and expertise to be deployed to a humanitarian response anywhere in the world, generally up to a maximum period of three months.
Successful applicants will be added to our roster of Education in Emergencies Specialists and contacted for deployment opportunities. Whilst being a member of the roster is not paid you will receive a salary as well as ‘per diem’, accommodation and travel costs whilst deployed.
We build a close relationship with Roster Members, with access to online humanitarian courses and regular engagement to ensure Roster Members receive benefits to being on the roster both when deployed and when not deployed. The Deployment Manager will regularly reach out to Roster Members for updates on their availability and access to online courses and tools
