Description
Organisation Background
Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international non-governmental organisation that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts.
INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services, including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety-related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations and training. INSO works in 26 of the world’s most insecure countries, with its headquarters in The Hague, the international city of peace and justice.
Overall Purpose of Role
The Senior IT Officer is primarily responsible for providing IT and application support to all INSO offices and for implementing projects centred around organisational IT standardisation and compliance. A position requirement is to travel to INSO country missions for project-based periods, to implement projects and provide hands-on support at the relevant locations.
The postholder assists the IT Manager in delivering IT support services to INSO staff and offices – acting primarily as first-line support for country offices during visits, and as second-line support to INSO country offices in general, resolving issues in person or remotely via phone or internet-based communication as needed. A particular aim of the role is to strengthen the IT function’s ability to support INSOs' Francophone offices and staff.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Provide on-demand support for hardware, software, and installation issues via TeamViewer and Microsoft Teams to all staff, in coordination with country office IT teams.
Travel between various INSO Francophone country offices and Satellite offices to review IT policy compliance and assist country office teams through project-based activities.
Act as an IT Support focal point between the HQ IT team and INSO country offices.
Provide ad-hoc training and guidance to country office teams on INSO IT technologies and policies (French and English).
Reviewing Country Office Information Technology infrastructure and equipment, and completing projects to upgrade, replace or configure these to INSO standards.
Assist Country Office teams with managing INSO SharePoint sites, including permission structure guidance and usage training.
Provide in-person or remote “IT onboarding” sessions for new hire staff.
Install and configure new and used computers to INSO IT standards, including operating systems and applications.
Assist in developing tutorials for INSO IT tools, applications, and services.
Assist in developing guidelines for Cybersecurity and IT awareness.

2-4 years of professional experience supporting IT services.
Experience within the Humanitarian (INGO) context, including frequent travel and working in potentially high-risk countries.

Knowledge of modern Cybersecurity awareness and practices
Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Intune device deployment and Intune Device management.
Knowledge of network concepts and Wi-Fi connectivity troubleshooting.
Professional working proficiency in written and spoken French and English.
