General Information about INSO:
Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organization that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing risk management coordination platforms in unsafe environments. INSO offers registered NGOs a range of free services, including real-time situation monitoring, analytical reports, humanitarian security data and mapping, crisis management support, and staff guidance and training.
INSO provides daily support to more than 1,000 NGOs in approximately 20 countries. INSO is headquartered in The Hague, the Netherlands, the International City of Peace and Justice.

Colombia began operations in October 2024, with its headquarters located in Bogotá DC. In 2026, INSO Colombia is in the process of expanding its regional reach, with the goal of extending its services to humanitarian NGOs working in Ecuador and Venezuela with a dedicated team based in Bogotá.
General objective of the position
The INSO Information Officer, part of the Ecuador/Venezuela team, will be responsible for overseeing the quality, consistency, and integrity of the data managed in the Humanitarian and Conflict Data Center (CHDC) and the INSO Partner Portal (IPP). They will also provide technical and operational support for specific tasks assigned by the Information Manager, ensuring the continuity of information management functions at the binational level.
Main duties and responsibilities
INSO Partner Portal (IPP)
To be the focal point and reference for data and information on the INSO Partner Portal, establishing and enforcing the rules.
Periodically review the data entered in the IPP and maintain its accuracy and consistency.
Identify and report, using available tools, any problems with partner data, and coordinate with INSO's information teams to correct and prevent such problems.
Provide analysis and information on IPP usage and data.
Support the coordination of communication activities to partners, including presentations on the CHDC and the IPP, as well as sending emails through the platform.
Assist in the partner registration process by verifying profiles and providing technical support in the use of the IPP and INSO services.
Develop IPP-based dashboards and charts as needed.
Training and Coverage
Provide on-demand technical support and guidance to all team members in order to support the achievement of service delivery objectives.
Provide support to other colleagues in the Information Management area when needed.
Apply high standards and ensure consistency in data and information management practices, including visualization and mapping standards.
Humanitarian and Conflict Data Center (HCDC)
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the structure, categories, and terminology of CHDC data.
Monitor the quality of CHDC data to ensure that the information is accurate, correct, and consistent.
Conduct periodic reviews of the CHDC and provide feedback to the Country Offices.
Monitor the use of categories across all Country Offices and report any inconsistencies.
Act as a focal point for adding new categories or updating existing ones.
Support the incident registration and quality control process when necessary, as well as presenting the tool to partners.
Develop dashboards or applications to monitor the quality of data collected in the CHDC.
Propose improvement actions when they are identified.
Different tasks
To guarantee data security, as well as compliance with ethical, legal and regulatory principles regarding data protection and information governance.
Support other departments in creating dashboards, visualizations, charts, or maps, when required.
Develop replicable templates, guidelines and/or practical guides, to be adopted, followed and used by Information Management teams.
Participate in interdepartmental coordination spaces when necessary.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Information Manager.
Required profile
Essential requirements
Minimum 3 years of specific work experience, preferably in the humanitarian sector.
Good command of SQL and experience in Python or R.
Proven experience in the use of data visualization tools.
Experience in mapping and geographic information systems (GIS), preferably with ArcGIS Pro.
Good knowledge of databases and ETL processes (extraction, transformation and loading).
High level of attention to detail and demonstrated understanding of data quality control.
University degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Statistics or a related field.
Desirable
Functional knowledge of English (written and spoken).
Experience in using Artificial Intelligence tools.
Contextual knowledge of one or more countries where INSO has a presence.
Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.

Contract: Fixed term.
Base salary: $5,600,000 COP.
