Purpose of the Position:
The incumbent will perform administration and support duties for the Isolated Forensic Computing Environment of UNICC client(s).
Objectives of the Programme:
The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head of Investigative Support Services Unit (CSI), within the Cybersecurity Division (CS). The incumbent will perform the following duties:
Administer the Isolated Forensic Computing Environment of UNICC’s client(s), ensuring security, efficiency, and compliance with best practices
Support the planning, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of forensic computing systems, including hardware, firmware, and software
Liaise with stakeholders to define requirements and provide technical advice on system specifications and enhancements
Install, monitor, and maintain forensic computing applications and hardware, ensuring proper updates, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
Manage software and hardware assets, including version control, inventory tracking, and compliance with security policies
Perform scheduled maintenance and system updates, coordinating with relevant units for technical support and service requests
Develop and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and reports to support system operations and stakeholder engagement
Provide technical support for forensic systems, including data recovery, troubleshooting, and issue escalation when necessary
Oversee the receipt, inspection, storage, and release of forensic computing assets, ensuring proper handling and tracking
Ensure compliance with Information Security policies and directives, aligning system operations with organizational standards and KPIs
Other: Provide other ad hoc support either within the team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management
Experience and Skills required:
Essential:
At least one (1) year of relevant IT systems experience
Experience with setting up and administering user accounts and access rights, ensuring security and compliance with IT policies
Experience with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing repairs of ICT devices, and their accompanying software
Experience with maintaining and updating workstations, laptops, peripheral equipment, and system configurations, which includes application deployment, OS updates, security patches, and setting software defaults for endpoints
Proven great client orientation skills
Familiarity with forensics principles
Desirable:
Understanding of Digital Evidence Lifecycle
Experience configuring and managing firewalls, networks, and network storage is desirable
Experience working with backup tapes is desirable
Experience with support in ICT onboarding and offboarding of staff
Experience with intake and release of equipment for service requests
*Education:
Essential:
First university degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Law or Criminology
Desirable:
Additional certifications or courses in Information Communications Technology (ICT), Information Management, Information Security or related programmes
Certification in Network and System Administration
Certifications in the area of digital forensics
Languages:
English: Expert knowledge is required
Knowledge of another UN official language will be an advantage

Compensation:
Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):
Geneva (Switzerland), including post adjustment (73,6% on March 2025): US$ 74,897.
