JOB SUMMARY
Providing simple and medium laboratory analysis services to beneficiaries as requested by doctors.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The lab technician has the following responsibilities and duties:• Ensure regular and punctual attendance in the laboratory to support daily health service operations.
• Collect clinical specimens (e.g., blood, urine, stool) from patients using standard safety and aseptic procedures.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests as requested by medical staff, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of results.
• Label, record, and store samples appropriately to avoid mix-ups and ensure traceability.
• Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records, including test results, patient logs, and internal quality control documentation.
• Receive and verify laboratory kits and supplies; store them in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and best storage practices.
• Conduct regular inventory checks to monitor stock levels and expiration dates, and report shortages or damaged items to the line manager.
• Ensure proper storage and disposal of biological samples and hazardous waste in line with infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
• Operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, microscopes) and report malfunctions promptly.
• Assist in routine calibration and cleaning of equipment to ensure accurate test results and prolong equipment lifespan.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Should have the following skills, education, and experience:
1. A certificate in laboratory science or biochemistry.
2. At least five years of experience working in a laboratory.
3. Ability to handle work pressure.
4. Work within a team spirit and collaborate to provide the highest level of service.
5. Proficiency in computer programs, especially Microsoft Office.
