Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organisation. We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and help transform the world’s response to conflict situations.
Overview:
NP is currently establishing its country programme in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and scaling up operations in Sudan, while continuing established programmes in contexts such as Myanmar, South Sudan, Iraq and Ukraine. Across these locations, NP works to strengthen the safety and security of conflict-affected communities through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP).
NP centres local communities in preventing violence and promoting positive peace. NP programming focuses on building capacities within local communities to engage in nonviolent self-protection methods such as protective accompaniment and presence, community-led safety and security initiatives, conflict de-escalation techniques, and early warning/response mechanisms.
Job Summary:
The MEAL Consultant is to lead on the operational and IT setup of integrated digital data systems for both the Sudan and DRC country programmes, ensuring that MEAL data can be collected, stored, and accessed through reliable digital workflows.
The consultant will also support other NP country programmes (e.g. Myanmar, South Sudan, Iraq and Ukraine) by adding digital tools and technical components to their existing MEAL systems. Working closely with country teams and the Global Programme Team, the consultant will help standardise indicators, refine data input tools, and implement technical solutions for data capture, storage, and analysis compatible with NP’s existing global platforms.
A key component of this consultancy will be to design and implement the integration between Kobo Toolbox and Salesforce, ensuring smooth data flow, compatibility, and analytical capacity. The consultant will develop a work plan for the consultancy period in collaboration with country programmes and other relevant stakeholders for their participation, engagement and clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Establishment of tools
Review country programme project indicators and ensure full understanding of their definitions
Review of existing NP MEAL tools to match data input requirements
Work with both country programmes to develop a set of data collection and MEAL technical tools best suited to their needs
B. Systems & Training
Design, test, and implement Kobo-Salesforce integration, including configuration of forms, data pipelines, and dashboards to ensure country-level data automatically feeds into NP’s global platform.
Ensure all tools are set up on Kobo platform in the necessary languages.
Collaborate with the Salesforce team (centralised database) to ensure integration of Kobo tools into the global data platform, with capacity for data interrogation and analysis for country programme progress monitoring and donor reporting.
Develop and configure Salesforce dashboards that allow teams to visualise and analyse their performance against indicators.
Create simple, exportable report formats that allow teams to extract Salesforce data into Excel for further analysis and donor reporting.
Conduct full system testing to ensure its functionality and usability.
Deliver trainings for country programme teams on the system and utilisation of app-based input
C. Documentation
Document all indicators, tools and processes for future reference.
Prepare a concise handover note outlining the system architecture, integration setup, and recommendations for continued maintenance.
Qualifications:
Relevant university degree or equivalent related field experience.
3-4 year’s work experience in the INGO sector, ideally with strong understanding of protection related activities (UCP experience a distinct advantage)
Experience in monitoring, analysing, and collecting output level data from multiple teams working in low-connectivity environments.
Demonstrated experience in setting up MEAL systems and training teams in their use.
Strong technical skills in Kobo Toolbox and experience integrating Kobo or similar digital data collection platforms with Salesforce or comparable databases.
Solid understanding of donor compliance requirements for monitoring and evaluation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills.
Commitment to NP’s mandate and principles.
Flexibility, reliability, and resilience under pressure.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in French and/or Arabic is a distinct advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience setting up MEAL systems within country programmes, especially those with limited field connectivity.
Experience implementing programmes in humanitarian and emergency settings.
Knowledge or demonstrable interest in civilian protection, human security, violence reduction and/or peacebuilding.
Knowledge and experience of the Peace Impact Framework.
Working Conditions:
This is a remote consultancy.
Fees and duration
The consultancy is expected to last approximately six months (December 2025 to May 2026),with an early start preferred. The level of engagement (full-time or part-time) will be determined based on the consultant’s expertise, proposed daily rate, and available budget.
