Job Background/Overview:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks an Officer, Program Visits and Events to design, organize, and execute in‑person and virtual program visits for private donors and prospects within IRC’s high‑value institutional fundraising portfolios. This role will showcase the impact of donor support and contribute to fundraising objectives.
The Officer will collaborate closely with IRC country programs across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia, as well as with domestic programs in cities across the United States. Reporting to the Associate Director of Strategic Marketing, the Officer will work with colleagues across the Philanthropy and Marketing and Mobilization teams to conceptualize and deliver engagement activities that support ambitious fundraising goals and elevate IRC’s profile.
The ideal candidate has experience planning events or group visits, managing projects, and developing marketing materials. Experience working with global teams, managing cross‑departmental initiatives, speaking additional languages, international travel, and donor-facing engagement are preferred.
Major Responsibilities:
Lead a global portfolio of virtual and in‑person program visits for IRC’s private donors and partners
Align visit goals with fundraising priorities and organizational strategy.
Collaborate with program teams to secure approvals, set dates and destinations, and produce targeted itineraries and budgets.
Track visit workflows in Monday.com and manage visit‑related marketing and giving data in Salesforce.
Support fundraisers and partners with end‑to‑end travel logistics, including:
Flight and hotel recommendations
Visa process guidance
Safety and security coordination
Sourcing interpretation and translation vendors to ensure accessibility across all in‑person and digital touchpoints
Managing trip budgets and developing trip fee structures
Develop coordinating trip materials including, but not limited:
Invitations
Donor Briefings
Post-trip Reports
Marketing materials
Project management assets, including multi-stakeholder meeting agendas and interactive workplans
Trip budgets, expense reports, and invoices
Support Strategic Events: To deepen donor connection and mission resonance
Design and execute intimate, high-impact events that align with key organizational moments or larger public events.
Lead Event Operations & Logistics:
Oversee the full lifecycle of event planning and execution—from concept to completion.
Manage logistics across platforms and formats, including in-person, hybrid, and virtual events (e.g., Zoom Webinars, Pardot emails).
Coordinate with vendors, venues, and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
Manage Invitee list and RSVP tracking and reporting

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 5 years of event planning experience with the shown ability to organize events through all phases of development.
Skills and Competencies:
Outstanding Microsoft Office and event database management skills (Salesforce and/or Cvent experience preferred);
Proven project and event management skills (in-person and virtual) with the ability to balance multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks appropriately.
Meticulous and showing persistence, patience, and resourcefulness around each task and project.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and diplomatically with donors, clients, colleagues, vendors, and consultants.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Resilient and able to remain calm in high pressure situations.
Ability to think critically and problem solve quickly and effectively.
A great teammate able to work effectively with multicultural, global teams.

Working Environment: Requires remote/flex-time work.
Compensation: (Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000) Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
