Know your Project / Team

Project that aims to improve the health and nutritional well-being of pregnant women and children under five across four provinces in the Philippines and address determinants of stunting in children under five years of age.

The project will strive towards improving the quality of the existing service provision through service delivery platforms and adopting gender-responsive approaches that address health systems gaps in (i) human resource capacity, (ii) supply chain management of essential nutrition products, (iii) monitoring and accountability processes, (iv) health management information systems and processes including capacity on using data for decision making, (v) program budgetary planning processes along with (vi) approaches towards community behaviour focusing on socio-cultural and gender norms.

About you

You will have a Masters Degree in statistics/social science/ developmental science or other related field with around 7 years of experience in data management and monitoring information systems with NGOs, and/or UN agencies working on health and/or nutrition programs. Experience in working with the government or familiar with government information systems such as HMIS, DHIS2 will be preferred.

Excellent English language skill (read, write and speak) is a prerequisite. Fluency in local language is also required.

About the role

You would be responsible for development and implementation of a gender- responsive Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) plan, to deliver high quality program monitoring and reporting data; to design and develop data collection tools using digital applications; to collate, analyze, harmonise and visualize data through dashboards for internal and external reports to donor/s, ministries, and other stakeholders. In addition, this position is required to present data-driven insights on program implementation and to clearly demonstrate the progress and impacts of the program to the Project Director for program decision making. In this role you will be responsible to:

  • Design and implement monitoring tools/ information systems (MIS) aligned with Project Measurement Framework (PMF)

  • Develop a gender-responsive MEAL plan to monitor progress against results and in line with the PMF ensuring indicators and data collection approaches reflect gender equality and social inclusion principles and objectives.

  • Design and develop monitoring tools as required to collect program monitoring data from the field in consultation with implementing partners and MDL team.

  • Develop and maintain a repository of data and information pertaining to key nutrition and health indicators, including e-filing of all documents related to program monitoring and reporting.

  • Undertake the first level review and fill in data and information gaps and ensure that good quality drafts are provided to the project team for review.

  • Support in project documentation such as the monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports for both internal and external consumption.

  • Collaborate with the global MDL Unit to operationalize digital solutions to streamline program monitoring information systems.
