General Information about INSO:
Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organization that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing risk management coordination platforms in unsafe environments. INSO offers registered NGOs a range of free services, including real-time situation monitoring, analytical reports, humanitarian security data and mapping, crisis management support, and staff guidance and training.
INSO provides daily support to more than 1,000 NGOs in approximately 20 countries. INSO is headquartered in The Hague, the Netherlands, the International City of Peace and Justice.

Colombia began operations in October 2024, with its headquarters located in Bogotá DC. In 2026, INSO Colombia is in the process of expanding its regional reach, with the goal of extending its services to humanitarian NGOs working in Ecuador and Venezuela with a dedicated team based in Bogotá.
General objective of the position
Under the supervision of the Head of Mission, the Regional Analyst will be responsible for assessing regional and international trends, such as contextual developments or actor dynamics, that have a specific impact on the security of humanitarian action and access in the assigned program area.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing a suite of products that assess regional factors affecting humanitarian security and access.
Provision of services
To prepare and produce reports that help partner NGOs assess the dynamics of prevailing regional conflicts and their impact on security and humanitarian access.
Manage and offer specific products on the new regional challenges in security and humanitarian access.
Contribute to other products of the national office and inform decision-making at the regional level.
To offer a personalized analysis service tailored to the needs of NGOs associated with INSO, upon request.
Convene and participate in regional NGO coordination meetings and forums with their humanitarian counterparts to discuss security and access in the region.
Program development
Monitor regional developments through various sources, including NGOs, the UN, civil society organizations, research institutes, and media outlets.
Cultivate an active network of contacts within the broader humanitarian community, as well as with other relevant stakeholders, for information sharing, analysis exchange, and coordination.
Collaborate and coordinate with the Analysis and Research team to facilitate the development of analytical capacity in the national office.
To effectively represent and protect INSO's principles of independence, impartiality, and neutrality, as well as actively promote INSO within the humanitarian community.
Required profile
Essential requirements
A minimum of three years of work experience in analytical roles, preferably working in conflict or post-conflict contexts.
Proven ability to provide operationally relevant analysis to a very diverse audience.
Work experience in NGOs, international organizations, consulting or journalism.
Acceptance and deep understanding of humanitarian principles.
Demonstrable understanding of humanitarian security practices and their application.
Excellent networking, diplomacy, and representative communication skills.
Postgraduate training in political science, history or humanities studies, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Desirable
Proficiency in English.
Experience in providing partner-focused advisory services.
Designing experiences and delivering products based on close collaboration with partners.
Existing regional experience and/or information networks
Experience in unsafe or conflict-affected environments.
Experience in capacity building and staff training.
Detailed knowledge of INSO's mandate and services.

Employment conditions

Contract: Fixed term.
Base salary: $7,122,000 COP.
