Oxfam GB is a member of international confederation of 21 organizations working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian, development and campaigning, in more than 90 countries.
The Senior Business Development Coordinator (SBDC) works closely with Oxfam countries in Africa, Oxfam in Africa(OiA), Oxfam International (OI), and staff from Oxfam GB. SBDC will support them to implement a strategic vision for Business Development (BD) aligning with new types of funding opportunities. SBDC will aim for funding diversification, build strategic partnerships and increase income from entities like Multilateral Development Banks (eg AfDB, EBRD), Climate Funds etc.
We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.
An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:
Extensive experience and knowledge of working with or donor account management of Development Banks (e.g World Bank, African Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction & Development) and/or Climate Funds in Africa for a development agency like Oxfam.
Experience in resource mobilisation for a large international agency like Oxfam, preferably at the regional level. Ability to design and coordinate winning bids and consortia partnerships.
Excellent inter-personal skills with ability to influence, facilitate processes, and work as part of remotely based teams without direct line management authority.
High calibre of networking, external representation, and negotiation skills
High degree of discretion, tact, and sensitivity in dealing with internal and external clients and stakeholders at all levels with ability to adapt and work within a multicultural, multilingual, and multidisciplinary environment
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English with ability to analyze and synthesize complex issues, plus working French language skills.
