Description

Job Summary

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization created in 1971 that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters.

As part of a project to transform the medical supply chain (STREAM), we are looking for a :

Mission

The Stream Supply Chain MIO reports directly to the Stream Project Manager, who shares responsibility with the Procurement & Supply department and the Medical department.

He/she will support the Stream project in implementing pilots at field level, with the aim of testing the various solutions explored (‘improvement paths’). 2 major pilots are currently being prepared for the 4th quarter of 2025 to test:

  • A new division of medical supply-related tasks between Pharma and Supply.

  • An OCG tool for calculating international medical orders (MedOrder).

  • A prototype tool for the statistical estimation of forecast monthly consumption (FOMO).

  • Operationalisation of the Medical Supply Chain dashboard, built on PowerBI from monthly Isystock data.

More generally, he/she will also contribute to discussions on improvement paths that are still at the design stage: taking part in workshops, commenting on working documents, etc.

Main responsibilities:

Support the Stream project in preparing, implementing, running and capitalising on the field pilots aimed at testing the improvement paths explored

  • Contribute to the construction of the detailed running of the field pilots (prerequisites, key tasks, timetable, key success indicators, etc.) with the Project Manager, the Pharma, Supply and HR business referents, as well as with the Operations stakeholders (Project, Coordination and Cell).

  • Support the pilot sites in carrying out any preparatory tasks for the pilot (‘pre-requisites’).

  • Ensure on-site implementation of the pilot, in close collaboration with the local team, the Coordination, the Cell and the Stream team. NB: this implementation may involve temporarily carrying out some of the “normal” work of the Supply Project teams.

  • Report regularly on the progress of the implementation, on the basis of quantitative and qualitative indicators, to be defined on a case-by-case basis, and to evolve as and when project needs are identified.

  • Contribute to the post-pilot capitalisation phase, to define the main lines of any scaling-up strategies if the pilots are successful.

NB: for the launch of large-scale pilots, a continuous presence in the field of 2 to 3 months should be envisaged.

Contribute to discussions on areas for improvement still under development

  • Active participation in certain discussion/design workshops

  • Proofreading/commenting on working documents.

Profile required:

Experience

  • Minimum 12 months of cumulative field experience with MSF in Supply Chain, including coordination experience, is mandatory.

  • Field experience with an MSF section where all or part of the medical supply is managed by the Supply teams is an asset.

Skills

  • Good understanding of Supply Chain issues in our intervention contexts.

  • Knowledge of most of the tools used at OCP (Portal, UF, Isystock, chronogramme, UniCat, supply report, etc.).

  • Knowledge of the OCG MedOrder tool is an asset.

  • Good knowledge of Excel essential

Languages: Fluent French and English essential (B2 level)

Status: 18-month full-time fixed-term contract. 70% of the time in MSF's field operations and 30% in an MSF office or Home Office (in a country where most of the work is done in the CET time zone). Field contract, salary level 12 according to MSF field salary scale and depending on seniority and experience.

Position to be filled: September 2025.

At MSF, we value diversity and strive for an inclusive and accessible working environment. We encourage all suitably qualified people to apply, regardless of their ethnic, national or cultural origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, beliefs, disability or any other aspect of their identity.
