About Opportunity

DOOR Beyond War seeks an experienced PAR Trainer to empower Syrian and Turkish Civil Society Organizations through hands-on, in-person training in Gaziantep. The trainer will deliver practical skills in qualitative/quantitative research, ethical data collection tools, and collaborative analysis to strengthen evidence-based advocacy in conflict-affected contexts.
Phased Engagement:

• Phase 1: Initial 5-Day Training Program (August 2025)

• Phase 2: Potential follow-up work (continuation contingent on performance evaluation after Phase 1).

• Phase 3: Analysis of data (continuation contingent on performance evaluation after Phase 2).

Key Responsibilities

1. Curriculum Development:

   • Design tailored PAR modules covering:

     • Co-creation of research tools with SCSOs.

     • Survey design, interviews, focus groups, and mixed methods approaches.

     • Ethical safeguards for conflict-sensitive research.

2. Training Delivery (Gaziantep, in-person):

   • Facilitate interactive workshops using Turkiye-specific case studies.

3. Post-Training Evaluation:

   • Undergo a performance review to assess training effectiveness before potential continuation.

4. Reporting:

   • Document outcomes and recommendations for future phases.

Required Qualifications

Essential:

• Advanced degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.

• 8 years of direct ‘research trainer’ experience (mainly PAR, non-negotiable).

• Fluency in Arabic (required) and English (preferred).

Highly Desirable:

• Experience with Syrian and/or Turkish CSOs or conflict zones.

Logistics & Compensation

• Training Dates: August 2025 (exact dates TBD).

• Location: Gaziantep, Turkiye (No remote option).

• Fee: Competitive daily rate.

• Note:

  • Consultant covers own travel/accommodation.

  • Continuation to Phase 2 and 3 subject to performance evaluation.
