AUAF Background:
The American University of Afghanistan is Afghanistan’s only nationally accredited, private, not-for- profit, non-partisan, and coeducational institution of higher education. Position Summary
The Finance Officer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to, ensuring timely and quality reporting, facilitating grant opening and closeout processes, maintaining grants-related information and files, supporting proposal development processes, managing reporting deadlines, producing high-quality financial reports and donor updates, and developing internal and external communication materials. He/she will also help support monthly, quarterly & annual grant reviews and budget
review meetings in close collaboration with the Development department, Senior Finance Manager and Director of Finance And any other task assigned by the supervisor.
Key outcomes include:
Manage routine tasks as directed by finance policies and the line manager.
Fulfil the designated goal set by the finance office.
Responsibilities:
Ensure timely submission of donors monthly & quarterly reports
Prepare & submit FAUAF scholarship reports to the Development Office
Act as scholarship data focal point on relevant information and dissemination platform with various departments.
Edit and review collected reports and refer to relevant reporting focal points for missing information, clarification of inconsistencies, and correction of inaccuracies.
Compile and format reports as required.
Maintain a backup file of donors reports produced and submitted.
Attend unit and other meetings as required.
Work closely with the development and finance teams to develop standard reporting templates and a reporting calendar for all donors and other scholarship report submissions.
Share Email reminders each month with reporting templates that will support timely donor submissions of financial reports
Lead, follow up, and coordinate the timely close out of donors grants.
Extract financial reports from Power Campus and properly maintain accounting entries in Business Central.
Assist the Student Finance office during the Power Campus assessment processes.
Record the receivable entries in Business Central.
Monthly & annually reconcile Power Campus with Business Central.
Reconcile donor reports with Power Campus & Business Central records.
Cooperate and assist the finance team in the audit requisitions.
Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree with 7 years of experience
Accounting application/ERP. Microsoft Business Central (BC) is preferred/desired.

Work under pressure
Strong MS Excel skills are desired.
