Our long-term vision is to address the root causes of inefficient humanitarian aid. By focusing on the systemic issues that prevent humanitarian aid from effectively reaching vulnerable people today (meaning getting the right aid, to the right people, at the right time), we want to enable humanitarian aid organisations to quickly and effectively self-organise.
Over the last five years, we have supported various humanitarian organisations in the EMEA region, aiding approximately 25 organisations across different crises with our Boxtribute open-source platform.
Picture this: You're the person who turns "we need funding for this incredible impact" into "here's your €75K grant approval email."
We're looking for a Senior Fundraiser who can own Boxtribute's grant fundraising pipeline end-to-end. You'll be the strategic storyteller who spots high-potential opportunities, builds relationships that matter, and crafts proposals that funders actually want to say yes to.
Be Our Opportunity Detective
Research and identify funding goldmines – Use your research skills (plus AI tools and offline networks) to uncover global grant opportunities that others miss
Quality over quantity – Initiate smart conversations with potential funders to assess which opportunities are worth pursuing vs. which are time sinks
Craft Stories That Get Funded
Lead proposal development – Own the entire narrative from first draft to final submission, coordinating technical inputs from our team to create compelling, deadline-beating proposals
Turn data into dollars – Transform our impact metrics and technical work into stories that make funders excited to invest in our mission
Build the Network That Builds Us
Become our sector ambassador – Network with fundraisers from partner organisations, represent Boxtribute at conferences, and build relationships in humanitarian tech communities
Create systems that scale – Maintain detailed records of all activities and build resources (lessons learned, guidelines) that make future fundraising even more effective
With Boxtribute, you will
Work directly with a high-impact network of community-based local organisations in Greece, Germany, Ukraine, Calais, Balkans, Lebanon.
Amplify the impact of highly effective, but under-the-radar humanitarian aid grassroots.
Autonomy with support: be mentored by a small, senior core team with real experience in both relief work and in industry (Amazon & fintech startup exit).
Grow your experience working in distributed, multicultural teams - we have team members contributing from all over the world!
Be part of a culture that actively encourages your personal development -- inside and outside the org.
Get a glimpse of the innovation landscape in humanitarian aid, and how tech can safely be used for the benefit of society, including the open source and open data movements.
What Makes This Role Special
Tap into existing impact networks, such as the UN-backed Digital Public Goods Alliance, the Prototype Fund, ForRefugees, and more.
Learn from proven success - use our archive of successful €20K-€100K that have been successful, as well as our database of potential funders
Flexible part-time commitment – 8 hrs/week minimum with a starting rate of 30 € per hour
You're probably a great fit if you have
3+ years experience winning grants for NGOs, social enterprises or grassroots tech‑for‑good ventures (bonus points if you've worked on topics within the humanitarian, international development, or disaster relief space)
Proven storytelling chops in English that turn data into compelling narratives.
Research superpowers – You know how to dig deep, find opportunities others miss, and quickly assess what's worth pursuing
Ability to plan backwards from deadlines, juggle multiple proposals without dropping the ball, and keep immaculate CRM‑style records.
Remote collaboration experience – You're comfortable with async work across cultures and time zones
Nice-to-haves (but not dealbreakers): Familiarity with humanitarian logistics, EU/US institutional donors, or fluency in German/Dutch/French/Arabic
Fully-remote. We rely on Slack, Google and concise weekly calls. Expect an approach with short and fast iterations, weekly stand-up calls, recurring feed-back and meetings to set new self set goals. Everyone signs an anti-discrimination and anti-harrassment policy, as well as a confidentiality and data protection agreement.
