TITLE: WISER Project Assistant
CONTRACT TYPE: National

ROLE PURPOSE: The post holder will be responsible for providing support in the implementation of the Women Innovation with STEM for Economic Resilience (WISER) project. The WISER project aims to strengthen the resilience of women affected by climate change and economic crises by increasing their access to and control over resources, as well as promoting the use of STEM knowledge for adaptation and long-term resilience. The project also focuses on building the capacity of women-led civil society organizations (CSOs), enabling them to empower and support women’s participation in addressing, preventing, and mitigating risks and vulnerabilities associated with the climate crisis across various regions of Thailand.
The WISER project builds on Save the Children’s and its local partners’ niche expertise and networks at national, regional, and global levels to empower women and young people, promote their leadership in the climate movement, and strengthen the use of STEM for economic resilience. The Project Assistant will be responsible for providing day-to-day support and contributing to the achievement of project objectives. The post holder is expected to spend a significant portion of their time working closely with both Save the Children and partner teams in project intervention areas to ensure effective coordination, timely implementation, and regular monitoring of project activities.

Key Accountabilities
Program Implementation:
Support the Project Coordinator in delivery of project activities and initiatives under the Women Innovating with STEM for Economic Resilience project (WISER) in Thailand.
Support the Project Coordinator in disseminating information to partners, CSOs, women groups/networks, and communities regarding project issues and available services.
Work with implementing partners for effective implementation of the other aspects of the project.
Support effective coordination and facilitate the dissemination of information and knowledge within the women’s network, while also contributing to the promotion of the network’s work, progress, and achievements both among members and to the wider public.
Support the Project Coordinator in preparing all necessary procurement and administrative documents for program implementation.
Assist the Project Coordinator in ensuring the project is implemented in a manner that is responsive to communities and children, aligning with SC’s principles, values, strategic plan, and procedures.
Partnership Management Support
Support the Project Coordinator in assisting partners to collate good practices and evidence for showcasing at national and regional levels.
Support Project Coordinator to ensure partners and sub-grantees are followed through with SCT standard in logistics, management and finance.
Assist in provide capacity building and guidance on project and budget management and activity implementation to partners and sub-grantees
Support the Project Coordinator in monitoring performance of partners and sub-grantees in accordance with the agreement and as required by Save the Children policies and donor compliance.
Planning, Reporting, Monitoring and Learning:
Support the Project Coordinator in collecting and compiling project data based on standard formats and submitting regular reports, capturing learning and project indicators.
Contribute to the preparation and provide input for WISER Project Coordinator of internal and external reports.
Participate in team reviews of results and program progress and/or project evaluation when and as requested.
Provide input to WISER Project Coordinator on budget forecasting and planning.
Provide technical support to partners in implementing organizational and technical development plans.
Work closely with implementing and strategic to ensure mutual agreement, shared benefits and accountabilities.
Collaboration and Representation:
Represent Save the Children in a professional manner.
Collaborate with other team members across departments and projects to ensure synergies and consistency in our programming approaches.
Represent programming with local government, NGOs, communities and within SC as appropriate.
Child Safeguarding Responsibility:
Ensure that staff is providing all beneficiaries of your programme with ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Environmental, Human Rights, Peace Studies, Social Work, Vocational Education, Social Sciences, Economic, International development or related fields.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
At least 1 year experience professional experience with related to project management or gain skilled in project management cycle.
Skilled in design learning workshop, project design, monitoring, and evaluation.
Skilled in crafting and developing communication strategies through online social media and traditional media platforms.
Good written and oral communication skills with an eye for detail and fluent in Thai (and/or English)
Ability to take decisions when needed and prepared to account for them.
Experience in building capacity of Civil Society organization (CSO) or Community Based Organization (CBO)
Ability to travel to the remote locations and work long hours at times.
Strong interpersonal skills the ability to work collaboratively with others
Sound knowledge of office practices, procedures and administrative systems including filing systems. Competent in use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Desirable
Experience in working for a Non-Governmental Organization project and/or other international donors.
Experience in a humanitarian/conflict and/or multi-ethnic setting.
Experience in gender empowerment, environmental management, climate change adaptation and/or child protection related projects.
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
Sound judgement and an ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a constantly changing environment.
